Customised excursions may be arranged with management at your request, and may include day trips to nearby attractions such as Keetmanshoop, Maltahohe, Sossusvlei, or Sesriem. Below are a couple of nearby locations that could be included in such a customised excursion.
Sossusvlei is home to perhaps the highest sand dunes in the world, some of these dunes standing 300 meters high.
Sossusvlei covers approximately 500 square kilometres of the mighty Namib Desert, which is considered to be one of the oldest deserts by many geologists.
Sossusvlei is a clay pan which holds rain water that eventually forms a lake (or pan); this pan can retain water for long periods due to the high clay content. Sossusvlei is situated approximately 265 KM from Mariental.
Maltahöhe is a village in southern Namibia approximately 110 KM west of Mariental. There might not be any “city life” in this small village; however there is still a lot to see and experience.
